Description
The Chip Shot Crab is a hand-tied saltwater crab pattern from Connor at Delta Fly Works. Tied on the Umpqua XS506H in #2 — heavier and wider than the Conn-Man — with painted lead eyes and rubber legs that kick on every strip. Sinks fast and level, hook rides point-up.
Three colors:
- Rust — brown-orange over natural, with orange rubber legs. The classic redfish and drum color for grass flats and marsh.
- Pale Olive — soft chartreuse-olive with olive marabou. Dirty-water and tannic-water color where you need a bit of glow.
- Purple — deep purple over black with purple rubber legs. Low-light, overcast, and dawn-to-dusk redfish killer.
Fish it slow with short strips and long pauses. The rubber legs do the work. Redfish, black drum, sheepshead, permit, and bonefish all eat it.
