The LA Roughneck is built for one job: putting a fly in front of a bull redfish and giving it something impossible to ignore.
Tied on the Ahrex SA270 Bluewater 3/0, it’s built around 3-inch FINATICS Foxy Brush and long, deliberately roughed FINATICS Schlappen, weighted with a medium lead eye to get it down to fish that don’t come to the surface. The Schlappen isn’t groomed into a clean silhouette — it’s teased out on purpose so the fly pushes water, throws a wild profile, and pulses hard on the drop.
Part of the FINATICS Marsh Series, tied in the same big-fly tradition as Bull Red Fred, Bull of the Bayou, Big Moppa, and Bull Dozer.
