Description
The Bayou Banger is built to get noticed. Designed as a high-impact popping fly, this pattern pushes water, throws noise, and creates the kind of surface disturbance that triggers aggressive topwater eats from both saltwater and freshwater predators.
Built with a cupped popper head and a full, mobile profile, the Bayou Banger delivers a hard “pop” on the strip followed by a natural collapse that keeps fish tracking it. Whether you're working shallow grass for redfish or covering banks for bass, this fly forces reaction strikes when subtle presentations get ignored.
Each fly is tied on proven saltwater hooks, giving you the strength to handle powerful runs while still maintaining the right balance for clean topwater action.
The #2 size is tied on a Tiemco TMC8089 for a lighter presentation, while the 2/0 version steps up to an Ahrex PR320 for targeting larger fish and heavier conditions. Both sizes are designed to fish clean, land correctly, and hold up under pressure.
This is not a finesse fly. It’s a commitment fly. When you need noise, movement, and presence on the surface, the Bayou Banger does exactly what the name says.
