How to fish a spoon fly

A spoon fly earns its keep on a slow, steady retrieve. The wobble and flash do the work — long, even strips over grass beds, oyster edges, and marsh drains. In stained water the vibration helps redfish and speckled trout home in from a distance. Keep the rod tip low and let the fly track just above the bottom.
