How to fish caddis patterns

Match the stage of the hatch. Fish adult dries like an Elk Hair Caddis in a natural dead-drift, then try a subtle twitch — adult caddis skitter, and that little movement often draws the strike. Below the surface, dead-drift larvae and pupae near the bottom, and swing a pupa up toward the end of the drift to imitate an emerger rising to hatch.
