Description
The Royal Shrimp is a high-profile saltwater shrimp pattern built to trigger aggressive eats from redfish, speckled trout, and other inshore predators that key in on fleeing crustaceans.
Tied on a Daiichi 2546 size 1/0 hook, this fly blends movement, contrast, and visibility into one clean, fishable profile. The extended body and flowing materials create a natural swimming motion, while the rubber legs and flash accents add just enough life to stand out without overwhelming the presentation.
This is the kind of shrimp pattern that works when fish are feeding actively but still need something that looks natural on the pause. It strips clean, lands well, and holds its profile whether you’re fishing shallow flats, grass edges, or slightly deeper transitions.
If you had to carry one shrimp pattern that can cover a wide range of saltwater situations, this is it.
