Description
Ehler’s Laser Minnow from Rainy’s is a compact 1/0 baitfish pattern that punches way above its weight. Built with a slim synthetic tail and a dense Laser-style head, this fly tracks straight, pushes just enough water, and flashes like a nervous shad or mullet trying not to get eaten.
The profile stays lean so it casts easily on modern 7–9 wt lines, but the big, lifelike eyes and translucent fibers give it a full, juicy look in the water. Long synthetic tail fibers and flash extend well past the bend, adding movement on every pause and allowing you to fish it fast, slow, or on the swing without the fly fouling.
From Louisiana marsh drains to freshwater lakes and rivers, the Laser Minnow is a great “search” fly when fish are chasing bait and you need something that simply looks like food.

-
Large, realistic eyes help seal the deal on pressured fish

Best use
A go-to choice any time fish are keyed on small to mid-size baitfish. Fish it on an intermediate or sink-tip line around points, jetties, marsh drains, weedlines, or bridge lights. Short, sharp strips followed by a brief pause show off the flash and trigger eats.
Target species
Redfish, speckled trout, snook, small tarpon, striped bass, bass, and any predator chasing small baitfish.
