Traveling to Blue Bonefish Lodge is straightforward and begins with ensuring your passport is valid and booking a commercial flight to Belize City International Airport, served by most major airlines. From Belize City, you have two options to reach San Pedro: a quick fifteen-minute flight on Tropic Air or Maya Island Air, or a scenic hour-and-a-half boat ride on the San Pedro Express Water Taxi. Upon arrival in San Pedro, our friendly staff will meet you at the airport or dock and assist with your transfer to the lodge, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free start to your tropical getaway.

Don't forget to bring a valid passport, as it is required for entry into Belize. We also recommend packing a change of clothing and necessary personal items, including medications, in your carry-on bag in case your luggage is delayed.
U.S. dollars are widely accepted throughout Belize and can be easily exchanged at a rate of $2 BLZ for $1 US, so there’s no need to exchange money before your trip. However, it is advisable to bring smaller denominations, as larger bills ($50s and $100s) can be difficult to break. Major credit cards are also widely accepted in Belize City.
Choosing the best time to visit Blue Bonefish Lodge depends on your fishing goals and weather preferences. The dry season, from December to May, offers ideal conditions for bonefish and permit, with comfortable temperatures and minimal rainfall. December to February is perfect for escaping the northern cold, while March to May provides excellent opportunities for serious permit fishing as larger schools cruise the flats. The summer months, June to mid-August, are prime for tarpon migration, with big tarpon consistently appearing in good numbers. Mid-August to mid-October marks the heart of the tropical storm season; when the weather cooperates, the fishing for tarpon, bonefish, and permit can be exceptional. Each season at Blue Bonefish Lodge offers unique and thrilling fishing experiences tailored to your preferences.
